Childline Thailand and Puenkaew visit Koh Sirae, Phuket Province (THAI)

Childline Thailand Foundation and Puenkaew TV program go to visit children in the Sea Gypsy community of Koh Sirae. They talk about their hardships in the aftermath of the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004.
This village did not lose one single resident due to an ancient folk story of drying sea. As soon as they saw water retreat - they just ran. They did not know what was coming, but they new it would be extremely dangerous. The whole village escaped to the nearby Buddhist Temple and so were saved through this story, even though most of the village was completely destroyed by the tsunami.

Childline Thailand and Puenkaew visit Masha who lost her father in tsunami (THAI)

Masha is a 10 y.o. girl who lived happily with her mother and father in Khao Lak area of Phang Nga province until the Indian Ocean tsunami took the life of her father in December of 2004. Childline staff helped her to overcome the trauma and return to normal life.
